DSNNN in the News

Paper Moon: One of our favorite community supporters!
Recently, Paper Moon chose the beautiful creations of Kailin Kelderman of KK Glass and the DSNNN as the beneficiaries of Paper Moon's giving back to the community. This month, Paper Moon awarded a check for the items sold over the past quarter to KK's charity of choice, the DSNNN. A very BIG thank you to both of them!

National Down Syndrome Congress November 2010 Newsletter

Our very own Kailin Kelderman was featured in the NDSC November 2010 newsletter! Read the excerpt below:

Convention Connection

"Each year, we invite 60 to 70 vendors to exhibit at our convention. We are always pleased at the number of self-advocates who exhibit, promoting their talent in writing, art, photography, music and design. Kailin Kelderman (KK), a self-advocate from Nevada was an exhibitor at our convention in Orlando - her second year exhibiting. Kelderman Klassy Glass is a collection of fused glass pendants that Kailin makes. KK's mom, Mary Bryant, said that sales were good - almost twice as good as last year's convention. But that's not the best part.

The big news was the connection KK made with a couple of local volunteers at the convention. The curator and gift shop manager of the Morse Museum of Modern Art were volunteers, recruited by the DSA of Central Florida, and they were impressed with KK's glasswork. They asked if she would mind if they displayed it in the Morse Museum gift shop! So, they bought 25 pieces of KK's jewelry to sell! KK and Mary went to the museum after the convention to see for themselves - and while they were there, some customers in the shop who were interested in the pendants got to meet the artist herself! Of course, they bought some of her work. How awesome is that?"
